Disney's 1992 animated feature is a triumph of wit and skill. The high-tech artwork and graphics look great, the characters are strong, the familiar story is nicely augmented with an interesting villain (Jafar, voiced by Jonathan Freeman), and there's an incredible hook atop the whole thing: Robin Williams's frantically hilarious vocal performance as Aladdin's genie. Even if one isn't particularly moved by the love story between the title character (Scott Weinger) and his girlfriend Jasmine (Linda Larkin), you can easily get lost in Williams's improvisational energy and the equally entertaining performances of Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried (as Jafar's parrot). --Tom Keogh

Aladdin Soundtrack
Awesome CD!! My 3 yr. old granddaughter LOVES it! She listens to it every night when she goes to bed (along with the Mulan CD). I think she knows the words to just about every song! Delivery was exceptional! Received it way before the due date. Thank you so much!

Quick and Simple
Had a little mistake with the first shipment of Aladdin, but then sent me not only Aladdin but also Peter Pan for free because of the trouble. Couldn't have been happier.

Bought as a birthday present for my granddaughter. Her mom said it was what she wanted most. I'm sure she'll enjoy it very much.

Atmospheric and intelligent, yet a little bland
The Walt Disney Company's 1992 movie "Aladdin" boasts an intelligent screenplay, great songs, and the huge climactic battle we have come to expect from Disney-adapted fairytales and legends. Yet, I still feel there is a crucial element missing that would have taken this production from being a very good modern Disney flick to being one of the all-time great animated films from the studio.
For every good choice in regard to vocal casting, there is either a corresponding bad choice and/or negative consequences. For example, Jonathan Freeman is an excellent choice to voice Jafar, the evil sorceror. Silky and cultured, yet also dripping with malice, Mr. Freeman creates a classic Disney villain with his vocal performance. To voice his parrot, the cleverly named Iago, Gilbert Gottfried is absolutely the wrong choice. Mr. Gottfried's trademark high screaming voice can be very humorous under the right circumstances, but these are not the right circumstances. The movie is not tonally suited to the comic. Scott Weinger's earnest, simple performance as Aladdin is perfect, but I wish Robin Williams had played the genie with a shade more ambiguity and darkness instead of the over-the-top comedy that is strongly in evidence here. The sharp contrasts between the respective good and evil characters do not favor the movie in the long run.
Also featuring the vocal talent of the late Douglas Seale, The Walt Disney Company's "Aladdin" is very, very good. However, a few different storytelling and creative decisions would have made it great.

excited
Bought this movie for my young daughter. She was very excited about it. It's alot cheaper to buy vhs of course so we are buying them up. When I received this in the mail i could not believe it's condition. It was like i went to the store and bought it brand-new on the day it came out. The seller said it was like-new so i was expecting the case to be worn and the movie front faded but it was in perfect brand-new condition. Very happy and will use this seller every time I need a movie.

Can I Call You "Al"? Or Maybe Just "Din"? Oh, how about "Laddie"? You know, like "(whistle) Come on Laddie! Here boy!"
(emerges from various cobwebs and dust) *cough* Sorry folks, I know I've been gone awhile, but I'll make it up to you: Yo mama is a fat cow! Yeah, I know that was mean. But what more can you expect from the Movie Review Kid? I'm just a young boy who makes a living off insulting folks through my product reviews. Oh and while I'm at that, two words: plastic surgery. Ah ha ha ha! Cracks me up, it does.
But as much as I'd love to make fun of you to my heart's desire, I have to get the job down. What job you ask? Well shut up and I'll tell ya. If you have any brains (which you don't, but if you did it'd be the size of this peanut M&M I'm eating), you'd know that this review is under the 1993 film "Aladdin." The film was released by Walt Disney Pictures and was indeed rated "G." So you can clear any rumors you heard that this movie has stuff that isn't "G"-worthy. And also - gee, you are fat.
This release here is on Disney's Platinum Edition. And no, the case is not actually made of Platinum, ya idiot. Why if it did, it'd be much more expensive than it is now. If you read my other reviews of films on P.E. (The Lion King, Little Mermaid), it comes with 2-discs and a digital restoration. The first disc pretty much contains the movie, the 2nd disc has bonus features - you know like deleted scenes, games 'n activities, that junk - and the digital restoration takes the old, faded looking of the movie to the high quality stuff we see today.
However, this movie will not be renewed in the Diamond Edition. That is, this film and selected others will be released again every 7 years to a new generation. For some reason, this one won't. So you should've got it when it first came out, or you're out of luck, boy. Now you're forced to pay the insanely high prices they have nowadays. Either that, or you can just watch it on YouTube like a hobo.
The movie is about a street rat (not literally a rat, he's a human but... you know, just... just SHUT UP, okay?) named Aladdin, who summons the all-powerful Genie of the Lamp to help him win the heart of Princess Jasmine. Meanwhile, the royal vizier Jafar has his own attempts to marry Jasmine and become Sultan. "Sultan, eh? Doesn't that have something to do with Arabia?" Well yes, yes it is, because that's where the movie takes place, doo-doo head. I'd love to give you the entire gist of the movie, but then there'd be no reason for you to buy the DVD and Amazon.com would go broke, and they wouldn't be able to cheat you out of your money and steal your identity!
The movie has memorable characters (Genie, Iago the Parrot) and memorable music ("A Friend Like Me" song by the aforemented Genie) that make it impossible to miss. However I will miss it because my dad got laid off his job and I can't buy anything cool. Why, the whole reason I didn't get to type reviews lately is because my old computer was sold at the pawn shop and I have to use my friend's. Nevertheless, my class saw this movie at school, and I must say, I was quite impressed. It looked good (unlike you), it smelt good (unlike you), it tasted good (unlike you), and it wasn't fat (unlike you).
Closing comment: It would be good for you to see this movie, but ya can't because if you look at the TV screen, it would break.

Not as described - disappointed
Although sold as "Used - Very good" it is very scratched and freezes a lot. Certainly not in "very good" shape like other used DVD's we have bought from Amazon marketplace vendors. Bought two videos from this vendor, both bad.

Strange
The movie seemed to be new and it arrive quickly, but after having my niece watch it a couple of times it began to pause as if the DVD were scratched. I have cleaned the disk a few times and it does not seem to be scratched, but the picture still stops and jumps randomly. I doubt that this movie was actually original.

cracked case
I don't think this is in "good condition" as the seller claimed. The case is cracked and very sharp. I have to be careful when I open the case.
